This webpage has links to files related to the construction of CIA2014.

NEWS 2022-06-15: The report (accession number rp222040) as published by the CIA in April 2022 had an error in the calculation of non-smoker expected claims on CIA9704 in Table 1 and Table 6. The incorrect numbers will not lead you to a false conclusion, but they may cause some confusion if you compare with other tables that have expected claims on CIA9704. There is no problem with mortality table, CIA2014, or calculations using it. The report has now been corrected

The Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) has agreed to make these files publicly available with the understanding that

1. Neither the CIA nor Bob Howard accepts any liability for any use to which the files are put.
2. You are free to use the files in any way that you wish provided that you do not hold them out as your own work.
3. There is no promise of support for the files, although you may contact Bob Howard about them if you wish.
4. By downloading any of the files, you agree to these terms.

The files available:

• The workbook used to construct CIA2014.
• A zip containing the summarized modified data in binary form. This file is used by the workbook.
• MI-2017 in binary form. This contains the rates as published, but it is in form easier for the workbook to use.
• A workbook that illustrates fit and smoothness for various sets of parameters. This gives examples of the impact of varying parameters.
• WHGrad64.dll, This dll is required by the workbook. (A 32-bit version is also available.)
• A document describing Whittaker-Henderson graduation. This gives much more detail that is found in the CIA2014 paper.
• Zip containing a database in .csv format. This database has the modified data used in constructing CIA2014. The zip also contains a file describing the database.
• Workbook shown at the AA seminar 20220913. This workbook illustrates the graduation of ultimate and select mortality rates.
